Goal
This project was for the final display of learned skills in publication design.
It aimed to prove a mastery of learned design skills and utilize them in a way to showed cohesion and appropriate application.
Designed to produce a comprehensive 22-paged travel publication to demonstrate mastery in layout design, typography, and high-end print production.
Concept
Began with gathering inspiration from professionally published magazines with similar themes chosen for this design (travel).
Developed a flat plan of the layout of the magazine before developing a systematic flat plan and editorial grid to ensure visual cohesion between long-form articles and high-impact advertisements.
Instituted criticism from peers and faculty to reiterate drafts and replace insufficient assets.
Result
Managed the production of multiple printed full-color copies.
Selected as a benchmark for student excellence; utilized by faculty to demonstrate industry-standard publication design.
Provided guidance to professor on how to engage students in the learning material and experience for future semesters.
